I noticed that the $1600 option leather on the E350 is a bit different than the standard leather found on the E550. The leather on the E550 is all perforated with small holes on the seating surface while the E350 optional leather is all solid. I believe this is due to the fact that the E550 comes with standard active ventilated seats while this is not available on the E350.

Can someone confirm this? E350 owners with optional leather and E550 owners? Thanks.

Thanks konigstiger for the pics. Looks like the front seats are the main difference with the active ventilation perforation.

For 2011, you can order ventilated seats for the E350 as a standalone option. It is no longer limited to the E550 only.

Heated, not Ventilated

For the E 350, you have the option of heated seats, which does not require P1 or P2. However, ventilated seats are an E 550 option only.

Not anymore. As of September 2010, the ventilated seats are available on the E350 sedan.

I believe the ventilated seats for the E350 may be an option in Europe but in the U.S. it is not available. "Active and ventilated" seats are exclusive to the E550. The mbusa site states that under the E550 but not under the E350.

Websites are notorioulsy slow in being updated for relatively minor changes. Talk to a MB dealer. E350 sedans with the ventilated seats are in the US now. My dealer found several E350's on order with that option in October when I purchased by E550. To get the option, I think you have to have either the P1 or P2 package also but not sure about that part.

The ventilated seats aren't a deal breaker for us, as we ordered every other feature we wanted on this one. It would have been nice for MB to state this on their website ASAP as most if not all consumers rely on the website in building out their initial options.
