Hi,
I can get E250D transverse arms for a good price, while original 400E arms are very expensive. Does anybody know what the difference between them might be? They both look visually the same, including dimensions...

Original part number is: 1243303407

The part I can get is: 1243303007

Maybe it's some angle, or maybe 400E are more massive (don't look any different though)

Thanks

I'd chose the right one for 400E. Mercedes engineers has calculated everything. For example, 400E springs on 500E is broken in 3 months, weight difference is only 45 kg.

Well, I guess that accounts for the greater torque, but those arms are really the same (weight, dimensions (haven't calculated angles)). There are more parts that have different numbers on different models but in reality don't differ at all (or in the accessories that come with them - front bearings for 400E are different only because of one extra screw that has to be renewed but can be reused if not damaged etc...)

The price difference is something like $300 -> $30...

Checked the numbers — they are different. Price difference is ~ 100 EUR or 1/3 and I've noticed that weight of the parts is different, difference is close to 0,5 kg, 10% of part weight. So — they are not the same. Forget about E250D part!

Although I compared the weight as well and they seemed equal, apparently they are not... so thank you :)
