Get a FM modulator that plugs directly into the antenna receptacle of the MCS (radio) Thats what I did...I have perfect sound and no interferance... I used FM modulator RFM5S made by Icon TV. http://www.icon-tv.org/Accessories.4.html

you will need an adapter behind your MCS to be able to connect the the FM modulator, call crutchfield.com and ask them that you will need an adapter for FM modulator. for ML. Its made for Volkswagen.[:)]

i was told by the audio shop that they dont know how to install it as they have not done it on a mecedes before. Also because of the cable is fibreoptic.
So all i need to get is the adapter and the FM modulator to install behind the MCS and not the antenna?

No [:)] You still have to connect the radio antenna to function Antenna, connection from FM modulator is a typical standard connector while the ML antenna input is diffirent so thats why you need an adapter to connect the three, from MSC to adapter to FM Modulator to ML antenna, it could be some changes in sequence, don't be scared you acn do it. I would advice don't go to the shop that they can't even know how to install FM modualtor [:)][;)]

I agree with JimB...DO NOT go back to that shop!! An FM Modulator is easy to install and any good shop should be able to do it. They will not have to touch the fiber optic lines, that is for the CD Changer. To answer your question, the antenna is in the rear window glass. If you want to do it yourself, do as the person above suggested and buy it from crutchfield. They should supply you with the proper instructions and diagrams.

Question though...if you installed the DVD player in-dash, where did you put it? The MCS takes up the whole cavity and there is no room to put another screen there. Give us more details and we will try to help you.

i have it install under the mcs unit and remove the cabin for me to put stuff in.... got the mod and adapter from crutchfield today and will start working on it during spring break. i think i roughly know where to hook it up which is the back of the MCS antenna and have the mod attach there. i have the blaupunkt me3 DVD player and have it install at the foot area by the passenger side. Attach to the cover for the A/C blower motor. i will post a picture of it when my camera is back from sony dealership.

You have to set the FM modulator to transmit on a specific frequency.... I think I used 88.3... and you have to set the radio to the same frequency.. I hope you connected your audio out RCA jacks from the DVD player to the FM modulator....
