I have conflicting info: does the 97 come with a 5speed auto and the 95-96 a 4speed? or is it the same all the way through. If it changed is there an notable proformance difference between the two?
proxy4.denver1.co.home.com

Only the '97 has the 5 speed.>>>

I have a '96. It goes like stink, but is resistant to automatic downshift in the highway passing range. I understand that the '97 is much better in this respect, in addition to the obvious advantage of having 5 speeds.
hh1125127.direcpc.com

Other Differences

The HVAC controls on the '97 are different, the '97 steering wheel is different, and the '97 had 276 hp vs 268 hp for the two years prior.
