I have a 400E. I also have a slight crease on the back driver's side corner. I could spend $225 to have a dent guy try and minimize it or get a ducktail spoiler... which would cover it.

Do you think it would look crappy on my car?

I have the "mushroom" interior:

I have a slight crease in the same area but I don't think I'll touch it till the other mechanical issues are sorted out. My rule is, short of corrosion on major body panels all the cosmetic stuff can wait.

Price of ducktail + paint > dentless repair.
For your stock looking car, the ducktail, IMO will look out of place.
Again, my opinion.

Yeah this is kind of what I want thinking. A co-worker said unless I had Monoblocks just leave it stock.

Having "mushroom" interior does limit you for modding your car... makes it look like you're trying to hard!

The only things I can see a ducktail on are the E28 Beemer 535i, 635 Csi, and an Alfa Spider Veloce.

I like this particular version, but do think it needs a front spoiler to balance out the overhang. I have a knock-off of this type, but it looks like a real bitch to install correctly.

Maybe because of the edge line it's better to have a dark colored vehicle?

Does look sharp on Red and Black.

Sam is correct...by the time you purchase an aftermarket ducktail, fit it to get the contours correct, paint it and then install it, you're double what you indicate you can fix your dent for...
Had to use a finger type contour gauge to get the right corner to fit properly..

Mine is an aftermarket with no logo I think. I want one like RYBCC has with engraved logo.

I'm guessing it goes on with a combination of screws and double-sided tape.
Double sided tape or panel bond adhesive ..
The original AMG polyurethane piece used an adhesive although the instructions indicated screwing the center section on which usually wasn't done...

I picked up mine from Ebay...shipped from China..

Fiberglass made from an original piece as it even had the "HWA" part numbers cast on the inner sides of the pieces.
The right corner gapped a bit, not objectionable but we wanted a very tight fit, hence the use of a contour guage to trim the mating surface down..

On mounting the ducktail, I mocked mine up with tape and the center piece I inserted 3 screws from the inside of the trunk, where the star holes were and the screws (self taping), went into the center piece. I would use double sided tape (the strong 3m tape) and a combination of silicone, (I have used silicone in the past, on my Audi's trunk spoiler and held exceptionally well) making sure that there are gaps left for moister and water to run off and evaporate.
I bought the same ducktail Ed did, and it does need some work to fit very good, although it is not bad as is.

Ed, every time I see your car, I drool. Epic, just epic!!!
