Someone threw a brick off an overpass and it shattered my windshield. Surpisingly it didn't come threw and my friend and I are okay. I'm not sure if my insurance will cover this though. Anyone know how much a new windshield is? Thanks

Most insurances cover glass breakage unless you only have liability coverage. There usually is a deductible but how much depends on your policy. The windshield in my 98ML was changed many years ago an if I remember correctly the deductible was $200.

In MD it's state mand $50 I think...at least that was mine. All my other ded were $250. Make sure if you have a choice...OEM/Plinkington glass...not cheap crap the insurance wants.

It probably didnt come through because they made the glass with a film to prevent shatter in crashes.

Glad everyone is OK!

Check your policy before asking! My deductible is $500 to keep rates low.

I changed my front glass out last year just because of night glare with normal use chips and scratches. The aftermarket replacement was about $300, but I live in Los Angeles.

It is worth calling around.

Thanks for the responses everyone! My insurance basically told me it'll be a $500 deductible, take it wherever you want. I found some on ebay for really cheap but I have the rain sensor wipers and I'm not sure if it'll work with the ones I'm seeing. Any advice on this? Or is it worth just taking it to the dealership?
