My Driver's side window will not work (1984 190D). Completely silent upon pushing the switch. I pulled the switch out and cleaned it and the internal contacts--simple mechanism inside, so not likely to be the source of the problem.

How do I get access to the inside of the door to check the motor and regulator mechanism?

Is there any way to verify that the motor is good short of replacing it?

The Sunroof also does not work--however it makes a noise in attempting to go both directions with the switch. I assume it just needs to be cleaned and lubricated to get it to slide? Any recommendations on how to get it open or get access to the rails to clean it?

Thanks!!

For the window not working....the switch might need to be replaced. If that doesnt work....than you probably need a new motor. To get to it, you have to remove the drivers door panel.

For the sunroof....either the cable went off track or broke.

Heres some manuals you can download in PDF format.
