I can hear the regulator going up & down but the glass is not moving. How can I remove the door trim to check what's going on? I did a search but didn't come up with something relevant
The car is a 2002 ML320 RHD
Thank you

You will in all probability need a new window regulator. Remove the door liner using the proper tool to prevent breaking the clips.

To remove the regulator you will have to drill out the rivets and you will need a two handed rivet gun to install the regulator. Buy the regulator at the dealer along with the correct rivets.

Also, new screws are required for reattaching the motor to the regulator.

Finally took it out. the pivot arm came loose from the centre of the gear. Looks like the 3 spot welds sheared off. I drilled then plug welded them. I also welded some "webbing" between the gear and both sides of the arm to give it extra added strength. Not sure how long it will last for but got me out of trouble for the time being. Put everything back together and it works well except the window does not roll all the way down now. It stops about an inch high. Is this an adjustment?
