Replacing the wire harnesses in the headlight assemblies was inevitable, as the rubber coating had flaked off and the wiring was exposed. My drivers side high beam failed, I figured it was the bulb. I inspected the H7 bulb (high beam/low beam same). Swapped around the bulbs (from passengers to conduct a few experimental trials) and figured that the wire harness was bad for the drivers side lamp. I replaced the harness with an aftermarket one to no avail, I figured the fuse must have blown (which would have prompted a wire repair in the first place). I replaced the 7.5amp (slot 5 LEFT HIGH BEAM) drivers side compartment. (it was blown)
This did not solve my problem.

I don't know where to turn at this point? Could it be a bad aftermarket harness, or another issue?

I agree, you can see if there is a short to ground, and with a self-powered test light, you can see if there is continuity in the wire (which will let you know if the wire is broken somewhere)
