Is there a way to drain the fuel tank by pulling the lines off the bottom of the fuel tank
without damaging

You can disconnect the hose at filter and should be able to suck the fuel there, but it will take long time.
Why?

It is important I drain at tank
Tank is nearly empty except for 3 litres of a non ULSD product which has not been circulated through to the fuel pump or engine

If you want it really dry, you will need to pop the covers and use outside extractor.
Those tanks have 2 bottom pans and only returning fuel pumps it from passenger side to driver side where the main pickup pipe is.
Lot of trouble, while if that is just 3 liter of non ULSD diesel, I would just top it off and drive.

Ok, so how do you know it's non-ULSD instead of ULSD in a tank?

I added a gallon of diesel then extracted from fill port and repeated 1 time.

Ok, so how do you know it's non-ULSD instead of ULSD in a tank?
