When I downshit, the shifter is a little stiff the first time I do it (after I have started the car) then after the first time I downshit its as smooth as it used to be.
Then turn off the car even for a minute and againg, first downshit a little stiff and afterwards smooth as butter.

Any ideas? should I be concerned?

is it the shifter its self or is the trans mission that is doing it.

I know if its the shifter some one has probably spilt a drink down in it. lol... im good at stuff like that.

Use your parking brake when you park... when you come back shift out of "P" then release the parking brake. It will make shifting out of "P" a lot smoother and it will prolong your transmission life.

Its the shifter, not the transmission.
