Yesterday I noticed that the self latching door mechanism on the drivers door won't work. I now have to slam the door hard to get it latch. The car ('99 S320) has 17,000 miles on it. any ideas

Hi, I think it might be the vacuum, that's located in the left side of the trunk. If you close it and do not hear a "air passing" noise from that section of the trunk, it very well could be the vacuum
