Hello!
As many of you are talking about speakers in W123 I thought that I should come with a suggestion. I´ve cut off the lower part of the doorpanels and replaced them with a thin MDF-board which intergrates a box in the front part. If you are careful with space it will fit a 6,5" base (in my case a 2 way Cantonsystem with separated filter placed on the firewall) and tweeters on top of the box. A hole in the bottomplate in to the door for "open air". The panel is covered with PVC formed with a hot-air gun and fastened with contact glue. When cutting panel remember to save 1/2" of the original PVC to fold over the new edge and glue it on the backside. It,s my opinion that for the best sound only the low register base should be placed in the back of the car. With two 6x9" in the back you won´t even need stereo as the channels are mixed up when they reach the driver
