Door Sills Quick Question

ok when installing illuminated door sills to the interior light in the rear do the interior light switch has to be on for the sils to work

lynn can u explain more please cuz i want to install them and i don't want the have the interior light on for the sills to work can help explain moreplease thanks you i have this instructions see link
