Just a basic repair, used gorilla glue on the inside of the door trim that was peeling up and it came out fine using binder clips, just maybe use a little bit bigger ones so they don't indent into the panel as bad, or maybe the different type adjustable 3m plastic clips have a wider surface area square on back so it won't bite into the leather as much

If the clips made some dents into the leather just use a hairdryer and warm up the leather(not too much!) then touch it with your fingers and move them around the dents they will go away.

I have done the same many years ago. Same clips too, but I put a short straight edge plastic ruler(s) between the clips and the vinyl so it is a smooth finish.
Used the same gorilla glue you used, works very well.
