My '73 came with the door panels not installed. Do they require clips that sit on the top of the door, or do the metal tabs on the cards / panels simply sit on top of the door directly?

There are about 5 different clips holding the door card. Do a search on door cards and you'll find a lot of info. The top black aluminum piece slots into clips on the door.
