Hello All,
I was just detailing my SL and when working in the door jamb, I noticed this peice is looking kind of "tattered" What's the best way to restore / replace this part? Any Ideas? It looks like it is cloth glued on?

Hi just looked at my 90 model it is like a cloth insulation tape under mine is a rubber capping, the fabric on one side has worn completely away I would think a fabric dye or ink might tidy it up

Not a bad Idea. Car is in cold storage for the winter though. I'll give a good look at this in the summer. Maybe some contact cement to hold the edges down?

When I saw the "Bump" in my inbox I thought aw what the heck now, then I realized it's my thread LOL. Thanks!

That piece you are looking at is just part of the " Soft top folding case cover" Weatherstrip
It runs from one door jam to the other. It's fairly easy to replace. It's just expensive. Cost is over $150.00 at several online suppliers like Parts.com.
Or, You can still get that piece at your dealer.

The end that you are talking about, Is not glued on. There is a rubber nub on the inside of that piece that just plugs into a hole in the door jam.
I can get you the part number if you like.
