Hi Joshua,

Probably so, but I just can't visualize which interior fastener fails. The steel strap itself seems so functional.

Actually -- it probably bears stating that where the strap fastens to the car body has some looseness to it unlike the passenger side. But the scrape and bump seems to come from inside the door panel.

I'm allergic to taking off the door panel, which I guess is the operation that awaits me. The raspy sounds sure are a bummer!

not a bad job. i replaced mine. no amount of lube will likely fix it. do a search on how to remove the appropiate panel and take your time. once in there its a no brainer.

i know what you mean about the poping conection point of the door check. mine does that too. i have been meaning to tack it with the mig but havent made time. $85!!! i am in the wrong business...
