Door catch.......

hey folks,,,the door catch on my drivers door of my 420SEL is wearing out and forcing me to close the door several times to get it to close correctly. after investigating it looks like the door panel has to come off. Does this sound right? thanks in advance folks,,,Ive only had my benz for a week and have learned alot from you guys,,,,,thank you

Mostly, I've seen them become misaligned, not worn out. They are tricky to correct, and if you don't know what you're doing you could do more harm than good. I'd have a good MB indy w/experience do it.
