Anyone left to defend Trump? Please jump up, please jump up

Ok.

As much as a lying, scumbag, narcissistic, incompetent, piece of shit Trump is, he's still entitled to due process of law.

We have precedents set with Nixon and Clinton. Nixon resigned before he could be impeached because it was made clear to him that Republican support wasn't there. Clinton was impeached but was acquitted, even though technically guilty of committing several felonies, because most Senators considered the circumstances mitigated the seriousness of the crimes.

It will be interesting to see if the RNC sends a delegation to visit Trump to let him know what's what. Failing that, impeachment will require allegations of serious wrongdoing, backed by solid evidence. A repeat of the Russia collusion fiasco won't cut it.

Sewerage is flowing.

The Lid Has Come Off The Pot

Each and every day the brainwashing of one third of the US population continues. For those who have kept a lid on their self righteous hypocrisy, Trump has given his endorsement to expose what's in the pot. He continues to tear away any sense of civility in favor of his version of who and what Americans should - or shouldn't be. His hate and racism, along with his lies and bigotry, has infected those who have a deep inner sore. But with an everyday dose of Trump's hate, those wounds will fail to heal. Trump's cult like followers are digging in deeper and deeper to protect what they fear the most…their identity, along with their perception of what Trump has promised to give them.

We democrats recognize the utter failure that has been put upon us and our country. We all need to work together - to right the ship. We are the inclusive party. We are open to new ideas. We believe in science and technology. We offer love, not hate. We are realists. And the best part of "us" is that we believe in each other. Together we can pull the weeds of yesterday and become the blooms of tomorrow.

Sounds about right.

Two Soviet-born businessmen with ties to Rudy Giuliani were arrested Wednesday on federal charges of violating campaign-finance laws through a six-figure donation they facilitated to President Donald Trump’s official super PAC.

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were taken into custody at Washington’s Dulles airport. U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman confirmed that the two were headed out of the country and that the timing of the arrest—before 6 pm on Wednesday—was prompted by fears of them escaping prosecution.

--------------------------------------------

Parnas and Fruman are charged with making illegal straw donations, including a $325,000 contribution to the group America First Action. As The Daily Beast first reported, that donation actually came from an entirely different, undisclosed company owned by Parnas. It is illegal to donate to federal political candidates in the name of another person or entity.

“They sell political influence not only to advance their own financial interests, but to advance the political interests of one foreign official, a Ukrainian government official who sought the dismissal of the U.S. ambassador to the Ukraine," said Berman.

Prosecutors allege a host of other, smaller straw donations designed, they say, to both evade federal campaign contribution limits and conceal the actual sources of the funds. Parnas is currently facing a civil lawsuit attempting to collect more than $500,000 that he owes a jilted business partner from a years-old movie deal gone bad.

In addition to the straw donations, prosecutors say that Parnas, Fruman, and their co-conspirators made donations using money provided by an unnamed foreign national, who was ineligible to contribute to federal political campaigns under U.S. law.

And the vile just keeps coming..

What happened to the Special Relationship? How Donald Trump humiliated 'friend' Boris Johnson by dismissing plea to hand over hit-and-run suspect spy's wife just 46 minutes after Downing Street talked up the pair's phonecall

Downing Street had last night raised the family's hopes, announcing that Mr Johnson had spoken to the President and 'urged him to reconsider the U.S. position' in a phone call.
But Mr Trump dashed those hopes in a press conference just 46 minutes later, joking about driving on the wrong side himself and saying: 'It happens'.

Judge Neomi Rao, who was appointed by Trump to the D.C. appeals court, wrote a dissenting opinion.

Court picks do matter.
