I am in charge of marketing at the company I work at. We are preparing for the upcoming auto shows in the spring. I would like some feed back on what people think about paint protection film on their vehicles (also known as clear bra, rock blockers, etc...).

tc1, I have been seriously considering about having the front-end protection applied on my E55 (Tectite Gray). The durability of the film, it's ability to not-yellow over time, and also the proficiency of the installer is of great importance. The person I was considering did the installation for the Porsche and Viper clubs here in So. Cal. But has moved on and I don't know where he went. I am still currently checking installers and reading up on the latest long-term product evaluations. Basically, if it doesn't make the car look like crap after a few years, I'm all for it. Please post some pics.

I used to have that black rock blocker (also called bra) for my other vehicle (Camry).
It worked well. I do not like chips on windshield and all dings exterior from that popping stone from highway cruising.

I am asking other drivers, especially who drives big trucks, put mud guard (or whatever it called that covers behind wheels) and check your tire regular. It is really pain replacing windshield.

Dimple... the concerns your have are good... according to our reseach... most paint protection manufactures have resolved the issue of yellowing. Make sure that you find an installer that has experience. Wish I could help, but I don't know any one in your neck of the woods.

[]I have it on 5 cars and it has held up very well. The film is Venture Shield and has not yellowed at all from the earliest (2 years old) to the newest 6 months old. All cars are rarely exposed to the elements other than when they are driven. The key is to be certain of the installer's quality of work. I have seen some real hack jobs that do look like hell. Get references before hand.

tc1: I am also an installer. I have been installing for 8 yrs now.I started with 3m and would have a lot of complaints about the look of the film after awhile.I have also tried films like avery,madico,lumar and digicut films. Iam now using venture and have been for the past 3 yrs. There is no comparison to this film. You may hear of film coming up on the edges every now and then from people but thats mainly because of the installer not being qualified.I have so many stories of how well the product works that I couldn't even list.
