Buy a new key! and do not try and jam the old one in. or you will damage the EIS! then you have an expense.

Do you have the little flat emergency key (plastic, not metal)? If so you can use that for the time being and then buy a used key from ebay and transfer you internals to the "new" shell.

If not you are stuck going to the dealer for a new key.

Flat emergency key for EIS? you have a metal one for doors and trunk in the main key. But what flat Plastic one? that is a good idea though about swapping shells. Good one.

Then you just plain have to buy a new one. sucks! but ot go sticking square peg into round hole.

well.. I have taken to the Merc dealer in HK and they said the electronic inside is a bit f*cked and a replacement may be necessary..
Is there anyway to reprogram a new key to the Merc by any chances?
Shoot the dog is a good idea as well.. may be the oven will work as well?

Do not joke about that I have eaten dog by mistake in Shenzhen, I think that is illegal in HK? LOL P.S. it really was not that bad.
