i thought so, thanks. maybe someone can fill me in as to why no one besides this guy responded, is it a feedback thing or just a stupid question? be honest, you won't hurt my precious feelings, just want to know "how to get the most of my post".

Well it just needed some time. Not everyone knows all the answers, either. Sometimes I don't get in here for a week or more, but when I visit and I see an answer not covered, I try to pull my weight around here. I happend to be here for yours so I just chipped it in. I doubt there was any intent to slight. We're all just human volunteers.

Cheers,

yeah, i seem to be missing all the "easy fix" parts, no EGR either (i think), it's just as well really, gives me a reason to get my hands really dirty. the only real pain is that the Haynes manual doesn't say crap about any of this. why don't they just call the damned book Mercedes Diesel 123 Series 1980-1985 since they don't cover crap about 76-79's. too cheap to tear one of those apart as well i guess but i may as well have the repair manual for a Toyota Tercel. i'm sure there is a better manual out there but i found this one at AutoZone or Pepboys and bought it. man, i'd be lost without this site. thanks for all the help guys.

great, i'll buy that and use the haynes manual as a door stop. thanks.
The Haynes manual can be very useful, along with Chilton's or MercedesSource or the Threads here and elswhere. They tell how to do some things the Mercedes Manual won't. When doing a procedure I haven't done before, I check all resources.

i agree, got bigger problems now though, see above.
I don't see where you state what the issue IS with your vehicle. What is the challenge? Perhaps someone here has experience with it.
