Hello, I'm considering the purchase of a CLS550 and was wondering if the near 50-50 weight of this car makes it a decent winter driver with snows on? I'm coming from a Honda Accord which can drive through anything with snows.

I've tried a porsche in winter, with snow tires and it was ok, but a bit hairy and I did get stuck. I'm thinking a 4matic is a much better choice?

Anyone have CLS snow experience, with snow tires?

The car drives good with winters (don't go cheap on the tires) the only thing is it accelerates slow, but handles really well. I would never drive the car without snowtires in the winter.

I have a set of Blizzaks mounted on another set of 19" wheels for my CLS63. I actually bought the CLS as my winter vehicle as I store my other car during the snowy months.

I had no problems making it through a southeastern WI winter last year. Very planted and predictable with snows on. We've had very mild temps so far, so I'll probably be putting the Blizzaks back on after Thanksgiving.
