I'm really trying to find this little bugger, it governs how much retardation is applied to the fuel injectors (Or something along those lines) if ANYONE can give me the location of this, I'd be VERY grateful

It should be behind the battery against the firewall behind a black plastic panel. Next to the ECU. It's called the R16/1 resistor. 750 ohms is the standard for a US spec 190E.

it is under your air cleaner box near the valve cover right above the fourth intake runner

Lucas, or anyone with an '85 8V 2.3, have you found the R16? I've looked for about an hour, behind the batter and taken off the air cleaner and checked near the valve cover, but don't see it or any lumps in the taped up wires.

I have a 2.6, but I've heard from people with older 2.3's that they don't have them at all. I was under the impression the resister was a "newer" add on to compensate for lower octane fuel. I think they started in 86 or 87?
