I haven't seen much in the way of technical specs for AudioPilot, but basically it uses a DSP to adjust the audio signal based on the input from a microphone mounted somewhere in the cabin. The idea is that the system measures the ambient noise inside the car, and dynamically adjusts the master volume and EQ to try and compensate for it.
ANYONE HAVE INSTRUCTIONS on HOW TO DISCONNECT "Audio Pilot" W209?
Like many others, my factory stereo unit fluctuates in volume, causing deafening volumes on/off.
I've read how disconnecting the 'Audio Pilot' located somewhere in the sunroof control panel (located above the rear view mirror) will fix the volume issues.
However, I'm having problems locating the Audio Pilot.
Is it located in the sunroof control panel? In other words, do I need to unscrew the panels from the Control panel to locate or is the wire located simply underneath the control panel ( no unscrewing required )
