When I owned my slk, I upgraded the wheels to AMG's and put in storage the stock (non sport) SLK wheels. My original thought was that I would use those wheels for winter tires and put them back on when I sold the vehicle.
Well I was rather suprised that the AMG wheels made about $1200 difference in value in trade. Considering that I paid about $2200 for an AMG/Bridgestone S02 tire package, this was a pretty good deal (the bridgestones were worn out).
Sooooo. Now I've got my CLK 01 with 17' AMG wheels and a 16' set of SLK wheels.
Since this car will definitely need winter tires, Im thinking of using the slk wheels in the winter.
I had heard that slk and clk's were interchangeable, but then I also heard that the brakes and wheels changed on the clk for '01
Anyone have any insight?
Thanks.
