How "heavy" is it when you initially open it? Mine takes a pretty hefty tug to get it moving. It doesn't come down by itself once opened, so I don't know if replacing the struts would make it easier to open or not. Anyone have any thoughts?

I do not have "Code 890: Easy Pack Tailgate", whatever that is.

Mine is also manual, a moderately heavy snatch and lift with one hand. When fully opened, it's secure. When closing, if dropped beyond the halfway point, it comes down quickly.

There are end stops on each side of tailgate. Adjust them out a bit at the time. Lube tailgate latch. Put rubber care or gummi pflege on tailgate seal.

Turns out the struts are only about $23 for the pair. I may just change them for the heck of it.
