I have a '99 CLK. The heater makes a mild whirring sound, especially at slow driving speeds and at idle, and when cold. Additionally, the fan speed changes quite a bit at low speeds, like it keeps trying to do something or is changing its "mind." It seems worse when the engine is cold.

Is there something wrong with it, or is this typical CLK behavior? (I've only had it a few weeks.)

Does anybody else experience this with their climate control?

Yeah, I have a 2000 430 and have the exact same problem. I think the problem is with the blower motor (that's what the dealer told me anyway) I haven't gotten it fixed yet so I don't know how much it runs to fix it (I drive a lot so my warranty is up). I'll let you know if I get anymore info.
