'T' means originally 'Transport',
TD means T-modell, Diesel,
TD turbo or TD Turbodiesel means its an estate Turbodiesel
D means just diesel (sedans)
and than you have the U.S. market CD and CDT

You'll see the tubocharger on the right side of the engine (on the left as you face the car from the front). Also, it'll have a "Turbodiesel" emblem on the back, unless somebody took it off. If it just says "Diesel," it's not a turbo.

I really don't like the way MB took away the "diesel" part in turbodiesel with my 350SD and 300SDL. From the back, nobody knows its a diesel, unless they knew what the "D" stood for in SD/SDL.[:(]
