I was wondering if the 4matic is more biased to the rear or to the front? From what I can tell, the tread is a bit thinner in the front than rear. What is common on this vehicle? I assume the torque of the CDI may go through tires a bit quicker as well? I didn't really have to rotate them on my w163; the wear was fairly even all the way around.

I rotate mine every 10k or A service. I did just have an alignment done at the dealer because I noticed some feathering on the inside fronts. I use it as a chance to check brake pads and such. I use two floor jacks to be able to flush the brakes when I rotate them with the B service.

Did just learn I wasn't torquing the nuts enough, spec is 110 ftlbs. I also use anti-seize on the threads though it says not o.

I may do mine sometime soon. So, front wearing faster is normal?

Also, are there no offroad capable tires available for 19" wheels?! Seems hard to believe . Tirerack came up empty for 255/50/19. I loved the Michelin Cross Terrain before (LTX A/T 2 now).

The fronts do seem to wear a bit sooner than the rears but I attribute that to the engine weight.

I rotate the tires every 6,000 miles per the tire manufacturer. After purchasing from TireRack.com I had my local Goodyear store install them with lifetime rotation and balance.

I really like these tires, much, much better than the Conti OEM's that came with the truck and only lasted 17,000 miles.

Thanks for the info! I'll rotate sometime soon.

As far as tires go, I need some that are great in the snow and preferably good offroad as well. Looks like there are only a few options and they are typically 255/55/19 (instead of 255/50/19). Slightly taller sidewall but I guess that should work just fine as well?
