Thanks for the replies...
Anyway, the colour is stock and I really think it is the best colour on the W124..
However, I would like to know if the car would benefit (appearance-wise) if I lower it without any other modifications... How much should I drop it by? Should I change the both shocks and springs or just the springs? Also, I heard that I can change the suspension bushing/cushion to a thinner one and it will lower the car a little... Is that true?
One last thing.. If I were to lower the car, would I need to realign anything?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

You'll want to change to better(stiffer) shocks when you add lowering springs. The stock shocks won't be able to handle the new lowered weight/stance. The bump pads can be switched to thinner ones depending on how low or even you want your drop. Realignment is sometimes neccessary but depends on car to car. I did not need a realignment after my drop. In my opinion you'll want to get some bigger rims with low profile tires before you lower your car. The W124 is a big boxy design, it won't look right dropped on big bubble gum tires. Judging from your pics, the tires you have on now will defenitly hit & rub hard if you lower as is.

Thanks for the advice Cali.
I am looking into changing my current wheels to 17" AMG replicas after my current tires wear out..

I am wondering whether I should actually change to sport suspension or just replace the current bump pads with thinner ones.
Whats your opinion on this?

Thanks,
Jeff

Depends on you. IMO If I start anything I do it right the first time. You have to keep in consideration do you plan on keeping your car for awhile, how do you want your car to ultimately look like etc. Changing bump pads won't be that noticeable. Get 18's and drop it with Vogtlands and Bilsteins. Your car already looks clean. 17's to me are good but 18's are better. 18's look more aggressive & fill the fender well better.

I love Cali but he is one extreme wheel dude LOL[:D]
17" are fine, 18" as nice as they are are just too much trouble on these cars and I have not seen a set that does not rub under some load. But nothing...I MEAN nothing livens up a W124 like a good set of sport shocks and springs you'll wonder how you lived without them.

That W124 is nice and clean. You gotta lose the mudflaps though. They kill the car!
