In the aftermarket they do sell cabin filters that have charcoal but I don't know the benefits. Check autohouseaz.com, they have the traditional paper filter that came with the car and a few dollars more they have the charcoal. Do not confuse this with the pollen filter that came with climatronic on the C320.

The pollen filter is the paper filter located in the engine compartment. On vehicles with "climatronic", on top of the paper filter found on all of our cars, they have an activated charcoal filter which is accessible from under the dash. The charcoal filter is meant to remove foul odours from the air when you put the climate control to recirculate.
