While looking for something else, noticed that Bosch now have the trigger point repair kits listed in the on-line catalog:

Bosch Automotive Aftermarket - Products

Unfortunately, not exactly a bargain :(

Reparatursatz Impulsgeber D-Jetronic Bosch F026T03035

But can be bought from certain on-line stores in Europe for a bit less.

Seeing these usually fail because of worn rubbing blocks, finding a source for those would seem to be the answer (or try and adapt VW points)

Absurd price of over €350 for the trigger points, the only wear seems to be in the fibre heel which wears down and points stay closed most of the time.

True - There is a thread here where one owner made a tool for adjusting worn trigger points. On another site, one owner bought cheaper VW points and used the parts to rebuild his M116 (or 7) points.
