Has anyone done the engine mounts themselves? Last time I had to do this it was on my old w124 at like 150k miles and had lots of space under the hood to work in. Can't believe the C240 needs new engine mounts at 60k.

Thanks!

MB mounts are not the best, but then again, not much in MB lately has been the best. You remove them generally by jacking up the car, then put it on jack stands and then use the jack again with a piece of wood so as not to damage the oil pan and lift the engine higher so you can access the motor mounts. It's not complicated work, I just feel cluster-phobic being that deep under the engine with having the car in the air with a lift so I prefer not to do it, but I've done it.

I didn't have any problems with my motor mounts at 120k miles. However, after I was rear ended I'm feeling additional engine vibration throughout the entire RPM range. Have a feeling the mounts were moved slightly by the impact force. What makes you think the mounts are going?
