Frankly, the concept is stupid. $40/hr plus tax to use someone else's place? No thanks.

I'd gladly pay my local MB dealer $100/hr to do things right. $85/hr for them to do it? Not much savings and not worth the problems.

Well it is only 28/hr and it includes power tools and lift access plus For more you get assistance from mechanic. Well I heard that Mercedes dealer charges 1700 for a brake job.
So I bought set of brake pads for 100 and couple sensors for 12. I have to jack the car up and put it on stands but having it on lift is much easier to change pads so I think spending 150 v 1700 is better ?

I think it's a great concept, but I hate that it's "by the hour". I would hate to get caught in the middle of a tough job and have it end up costing me the same amount of money to DIY. I'm also shocked they can do this with all the insurance and legal requirements.

Paying $100 for brake pads and $12 for the sensors is outrageous. I also "heard" that lobster costs $800 and ounce. Reality is that a brake job from the dealer, covering brake pads, sensors, rotors and a fluid change is around $800. Not bad considering what others charge.

My favorite phrases are "I feel...", "I heard...", "Someone told me...".
