In exploring in my new (to me) 95 E320 Cabriolet I discovered the seat belt presenter module (140 820 25 26) is disconnected. I plugged it in and got noise from the passenger side and nothing from the drivers. I simply unplugged it again as I have more pressing projects for now but... I was wondering, does this module control anything other than the sb presenters? Is it a problem for it to be unplugged?

It is only for the seat belt extender.

It could have been disconnected to prevent a draw on the battery
besides the non working motor.

Open the module and take a look at the electronics. The last two modules in my car had horrible corrosion from being underwater. The owners likely left the top open in a cloudburst.

I can't really remember. I think there are molded-in clips, similar to most TV remote clamshell designs. You have to know where to press to unclip. A jeweler's screwdriver helps.
