Let's try to put together a list of things we know differed between euro and US cars.. :)

Corner lamps - amber on pre-facelift, clear with side markers on late model cars, euro cars were either amber or clear
Headlights
Tails - side markers in the housing for US cars
Trunk lid - shorter number plate recess on facelift US cars for US plates

Just mention more differences.. What about interior pieces?

Some of the European ones had the steering wheel on the incorrect side!

/sarcasm

Actually, I'd like to have a RHD car in the US.

Some Euros have side marker lights located along the rear of the front fenders. 4Matics could be ordered with a turbodiesel engine option. The Euro OM603 turbo engines never had the trap oxidizer and the funky exhaust manifold design we had here in NA. Nearly every 124 here in NA had electric seats, except for the 260E variants. The Euro 250D was re-badged as a 300D 2.5 turbo here in NA. All 124 diesels were turbos up to '93 here in NA, while Euros could be had in non-turbo OM601 and turbo/non-turbo versions of the OM602/603. I think the OM606 non-turbo engines were available for the '93 MY in Europe, while we only got them here in NA for the '95 MY.

mailman status. ;)
The downside is I'd have to back through drive-through window lanes....

But street-parked entry/exit would be much safer!

A lot of little bugs to fix, but with the resourceful informations available already on this forum, it should be fun....

There's a different dash knee-facing section on US-models.
-Different names ex. 300E 2.8 / 280E
-Different front armrest
-US models had much more equipment as standard - Basic Euro-models didn't have electric windows, seats, AC etc.
-Different diff ratios on some models
-Different third stop lamp (if present on Euro-car)
-Pinstriping on US-models
-Different headlights
-Different VINs

There are more, but that's what I managed to come up at the moment.

I thought they couldnt do this because they had to put a hole through the block.

The 4Matic front diff is located entirely within the oil sump.

Outside temp readout and Climate Control in celsius instead of farenheit. Did the Euro models have the door safety beams required by the US?
