One would assume that newer editions of the same model already have the bugs fixed...

I can think of difference, the body kit.

The onlt differce I know of is the 2000 had <br>
the tiptronic shifting. but it's real hard to find a 2000 i think there was someting like 30 <br>
brought over to the USA.

All manufacturers make unpublished running changes throughout the lifecycles of their vehicles. The C-class was toward the end of the cycle when the C43 was introduced, so there probably aren't many for the short run of the C43.<br> <br> The '98 and '99 models have different stereo/integrated phone systems throughout the Mercedes range.<br> <br> As with other '00 Mercedes models, the 20 or so C43s imported have Teleaid and the Tiptronic-type gear selector.<br> <br> Contrary to another response to your post, there are no differences in the body kit from '98-'00.
