paw bear asked me last night how to get diesel smell out of a wool sweater? didnt ask why & he didnt volenter a reason. i just sort of imagin what he could have been doing. so if anyone could give me an answer ill pass it along. thanks

Soak it in gas.
mercedies! diesel! sweaters! since the begining of time! & all we could come up with is soak it in gas? ya i told pa bear & he just walked away shaking his head. have you tried this & know it works? & what do you use to take the gas smell out?

Haha, I don't recommend actually soaking it in gas, but it would definitely over power the diesel smell...

Whenever my clothes reeked of diesel after working on the Benz, a few washes with a competent detergent usually took care of it. Maybe some Febreeze would help before it's washed, I've tried that and it works if the sweater is allowed to waft in the spray.

Other than that, how important is the sweater? Perhaps it could become dedicated fuel-leak fixing attire.
