I'm looking at an online ad for a car I didn't know was ever produced. Did Mercedes ever make a 1995 E320 Convertible with 24V? If so, would that engine be preferable to the std m104?

All M104 engines are 24V.

The variant I think you're talking about is the M104.980, which was only available on early R129 SL and early C124 CE's. The M104.980 was unavailable on the cabriolets in the US.
