Folks,

I had the famous idle problem on my 88-420, took it to european motors downtown today and heres the writeup of what they did:

IDLE SPEED SWITCH IS NOT WORKING AND MAKING THE MOTOR IDLE HIGH. SO REPLACED IDLE SPEED SWITCH and OVP. RESEALED FUEL HEAD and SPARKED PLUGS, RE_ADJUSTED FUEL SYSTEM. REPLACED OIL PAN -

Cost - Oil Pan $65
Idle Switch - $75
Spark Plugs - $14.80
Labor - $245 smakaroos...

Now the idle problem is handled "apparently", but when I drove out of the workshop today the car was idling pretty hard. When I stopped at a stop light the whole freakin body was shaking. Its idling at 700 but pretty rough...

Much appreciated Prof. I will take it back in the AM and mention the mixture issue you listed. Or, should I take to the local benz dealership workshop to have that adjustment made?
