Folks,

I had the famous idle problem on my 88-420, took it to european motors downtown today and heres the writeup of what they did:

IDLE SPEED SWITCH IS NOT WORKING AND MAKING THE MOTOR IDLE HIGH. SO REPLACED IDLE SPEED SWITCH and OVP. RESEALED FUEL HEAD and SPARKED PLUGS, RE_ADJUSTED FUEL SYSTEM. REPLACED OIL PAN -

Cost - Oil Pan $65
Idle Switch - $75
Spark Plugs - $14.80
Labor - $245 smakaroos...

Now the idle problem is handled "apparently", but when I drove out of the workshop today the car was idling pretty hard. When I stopped at a stop light the whole freakin body was shaking. Its idling at 700 but pretty rough...

Help!!

Thanks,
Brendan

I see that they replaced the OVP, that should have been around $75 but you don't have it listed.
I don't see why the oil pan would be part of the problem but the rest of stuff seem ligit. Your mechanic may not have adjusted the lean mixture properly and that could send the car into shivers.
take it back, the car must run smoothly at all times to be "fixed".
