my Indy is using a "LAUNCH" diagnostic system.

Question can the "Launch" diagnostic do a deep scan like the SDS can ?
can it read AAM and any problems it might encounter ?

Thanks !

It very well may.
There are a few models. They have the Euro Pro, The X431 and the Tool Plus kit for the X431.
These like som many other high end scan tools have been cloned by the Chinese. I am hoping
he has one sold by Launch USA. so he gets the best support and updates.
The newest one they have is called the GDS. Basically they all run the same software
and have a pretty good reputation.

I hope this indy won't charge you for coming up with nada on the diagnosis. Does he have any idea what's wrong?

I was in the process of updating the findings . The 2 keys can be recognized by the diagnostic and the energizer ring on the ignition switch is working . The AAM is not recognizing the keys. and the diagnostic is not accessing the AAM

A new AAM is on order and to be reprogrammed with the recovered codes

You could have got away with ordering a new key, you know. Your AAM can still be ok, even if it's locking out your existing keys. That's the price you pay for avoiding dealership diagnosis.

I am on key 7 now .
I have 2 keys .
the one I have been using wont start the car and the second key would start the car 4 months ago will not start the car now
use of the second key was not attempted until after the new battery was installed.
The closest dealership is 100 miles away.

That is too far.

If your indy mechanic can order a new AAM, he should be able to order key #8 with your authorization. Both parts are bound by the same anti-theft rules.

If your indy reckons that his LAUNCH system can normally access data from a good AAM (and can't from yours), then new AAM is the way to go.

With luck, that will be your only problem.
