Hey, I am "in charge" of keeping up my Mom's mint '99 E320. Today when she came for Mother's Day I noticed the rocker panel under the drivers side doors, the black painted parts, were dented and pushed in. (Mom knows nothing about how it happened!) Has anyone ever had to replace repair the rocker panel? Is it a huge expensive job?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's the black rough surfaced painted area that is damaged. Running over a curb "sounds right" for the damage. There is nothing damaged for or aft of it, just the area right under the drivers side front door. Thanks for the input. Grandma's going to have to save up her Social Security for this one!

I have seen damage like this caused by garages using lifts with badly positioned lift arms and no pads in place. Not sure if this is the case but a garage cracked the plastic ones on a previous car of mine Alfa166 which was low to the ground.

i cracked the rocker panel on my 2002 e320. the cost to replace it was in the $600 range 2-3 years ago. i believe there was some paint involved. the result was good. i have had no further trouble with it and can't tell it was damaged.
