Just got word from Denso North America, Denso T20EPU on back order nationwide.
NGK's and bosch NLA.

Is this the fate of our cars? to be slowly bled to death by NLA's?

Jparr,
Where from may I ask?
The Bosch are no longer made, so you must have found some NOS.
ClubPlug told me the NGK's are NLA.
Amazon has them for $3 something ea, Ebay for $6. so they are getting pricy, and harder to find.

FIRE!

Rockauto has the Denso T20EPU for $1.32 each. Also, autohausaz has the Bosch F8DC4 for $1.74 each.
Oyyy,
Autohauz I was only finding the Yyttrium, and Rock Auto I looked for the NGK's, and thought $40 shipping from UK was too much. guess I forgot to look for Denso's on RA.

I usually get them from clubplug.net. I guess they are still around at reasonable prices.

Well, Let me get back to the crowded theater.......

FIRE! (oh wait....there is no fire)

T20EP-U is a tapered seat plug for the no longer availible H9DC0: M103

F8DC4 is a gasket plug, still out there, : M104/M119

Just don't want to confuse the 2.

Good Deal,

Thanks Clark.
Getting my "maintenance package" present together for Dad and his 300se.
Off to RA for the T20EP-U's

I dont think many realize the seat difference in 103/104.

It's a distinct possibility. I thought about that when I was reading the recent heated threads about testing vs replacing OVPs. Right now, new parts like OVPs, FPRs, sensors etc are just a few keystrokes away. What happens when those parts become NLA from OEM or equivalent suppliers. At that point, knowledge of how they work and what can be done to extend their lives will be critical. As for me, I have spares, but I think I will try to score a couple more sets of plugs, just in case.

I just bought a set of the Denso T20EP-U @ for $11.70 including shipping from Auto Barn....through amazon. There was this scare the last time I bought plugs and I bought an extra set. But then I traded the set for used parts. You guys are making me anxious.:p

AC Delco #5

I'm running a set of AC Delco #5 plugs which cross references to the original Bosch F9DCO. The motor is smooth and exhaust note is correct. No exhaust smell.

AC Delco Rapid Fire #5 is a gasket type plug for M104 & M119 like Bosch F8DC4
It's also a resistor platinum plug, not correct for an older MB.

AC Delco Rapid Fire #12 would be the cross reference for H9DC0, the M103 plug.
Again, wrong type of plug for older MB.

If these plugs are in your CE M104, F8DC4 are still available.

For your M103, use Denso T20EP-U or NGL BP5EFS

FYI, F9DC0 is the old Bosch number, superseded to F8DC4 several years ago.

I got my W124 in May, 2013 and spent all this time looking for compatible spark plugs. I ran out of patience and settled on AC Delcos because I could not run the car on the old plugs it still had. I value all this advice on plugs but there comes a time when the part has to be replaced with whatever is available that works.

The correct copper core plug is available right now at RockAuto.com

$1.66 each I believe.

F8DC4.

The ignition wires on older Mercedes have resistors built into the plug connector.

That's why you don't want to use resistor plugs, undo strain on the coil.

Did you miss the part about Auto Barn(through amazon) having the set of Denso for $11.70? Did you ask here, where to buy the correct plugs when you were hunting??
