What is the dealer cost when he do the Preowned 150 points inspection?
Everyone knows he is raising the cars price when he do this!
Guess #1: assuming a list price of a 7/100 warranty at about $5K on a new car, if a 3 year old car has 40K on it the remaining 4/60K warranty has a total value of about ~$2800-3000; and, if you drive no more than 15,000 miles/yr., the 1-yr. of such a warranty (that's included in the price of a certified car) is 1/4th of the remaining warranty value or about $700-750. We can assume a profit is built into the warranty; and assuming the profit is 50% or more, that puts the cost of the inspection at no mare that $375.

if you are talking about CPO, there is way more than 150 points to inspect.

CPO price is different from vehicle to vehicle. reason I say this is cause if tires fail on one car and pass on the other of course the car that needed tires will cost more to CPO than the one without tires. I have CPO'd cars that need nothing but an alignment which is part of the CPO process. then I have done 15 hrs worth of work on some CPO's. CPO base price is pretty much equal across the board. MB has guidelines for dealers to follow, but they don't always follow them.
