I am frustrated to say the least. I just got back from a work trip for 4 days. While I was gone my wife drove the car. I went out today to reset the seat and the car was completely dead. When I hooked up a jumper box, there were electrical noises, clicking and stuff, and then it went completely dead again. I tried a battery charger, but the electrical noises kept starting and stopping so I unplugged it for fear of a fire. I did pull the engine cover and saw the turbo actuator motor operate during the noise cycle, but I could not tell where the source of the noise was. I tried to get the OBDII port working to read codes, but it just kept saying low battery.

I'm stumped, I just found out the oil cooler is leaking so I have that expense, but now I can't get it anywhere to fix it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Try borrowing a charged battery from an auto shop and trying to reconnect your car to that and see what happens.

If you have decent auto insurance, they will pay to have it towed within 10 miles. I have Progressive and it covers towing. GLTU!

Sorry about your oil cooler leak. Mercedes dealer in Houston tried to scam me, stating that mine was leaking and it would cost me $4,400.00 plus taxes on parts. I took it to my Independent European car mechanic and it was not the oil cooler but the oil charger tube O-Ring, which was spewing vapor oil out one side. Saved me $3,100 and I had other things done, such as, new turbo seals, two air filters, of course oil & filter changed, the O-Ring fixed and some other seals replaced. All in all around $1,300 bucks. Runs like a charm now and no oil smell around engine or inside the cab. There is a reason dealerships are called stealerships. LOL

Yeah my dealer wanted 4600+ but I found a Indy that is less than $2k and it's better than a dealer. Just need to see what the electrical issue is, they can't look at it till November

It's the labor hours that is the problem. The parts are about $25. Since they are breaking down (removing) all that stuff above the oil cooler, just to get to the oil cooler, I would have them replace all the seals that they recommend; especially the turbo seal, Oil charger O-Ring, etc. Those may be included in the package of seals for the oil cooler. I'm just not sure.

Have you had the AEM “recall” (emissions modification) done by Mercedes’ on your ML350? If not, you can still have Mercedes do it free of charge to you. Since they will have to tear apart your engine to do it, they can easily replace the cooler seals at small additional cost to you (cooler seals not covered by modification recall). My dealer charged me under $500 to do the cooler seals.
