I have used the Russian VIN decoder site (Êàòàëîã çàï÷àñòåé Mercedes, ïîäáîð àâòîçàï÷àñòåé äëÿ Ìåðñåäåñ ïî àâòîêàòàëîãó.) and it provided me with some useful information about my SL320, but no date of manufacture. Although my vehicle is registered here in New Zealand as a 1999, I'm pretty sure it was manufactured some month in 1998. It is the final facelift version with a 3.2L V6, latest seats/steering wheel/xenon lights etc.
Can anyone help with this? I have checked the drivers door jam sticker but it doesn't state any dates, just the VIN.
It was originally from Japan and the VIN is WDB1290642F178821
