Hello everybody, I have a sort of problem with my W123. The interior lightning doesn't work (gauges, ventilation controls...). I found out on the internet that rehostat on the back of the instrument cluster could be a problem. So my question is how do I bypass it? Is all I have to do connect the things circled red on the picture below together?

Try to clean 1st the spring and the plate that slides on top, make sure there are no dirt that might give the loose contact, if it still wont light up, you connect a small wire to the suppy terminal its the round thing but the down side in bypassing the fader spring is that your light's brightness is fixed , meaning you can no loner adjust the dimmer or brighter option, oh well i had my w123 by pass this fader switch too as it gives poor contact
